the Colour in You

"The Colour in You" Exhibition was held at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre on January 8th 2022.

The Colour In You is influenced by modern youth and the connections that surround every individual. This exhibition is an exploration of colour and how it can portray our inner emotions. Throughout each portrait, a sense of unkept youth is captured through the lens of modern youth.

Nasturtiums are used as a motif for nature; the connection between yourself and our everlasting surroundings that are rooted within. The feeling of taking a breath of fresh air on your daily bush track or in the reserve down your road, where you feel calm and whole again.

Colour is such an impactful visual from our day to day and defines all that we see. The use of oil paint as a medium allows for vibrancy within each painting, along with an imperfect visual reality. Oil paint also allows for texture and depth within each portrait.
